Our story begins in 1992, when Mike Miller combined his experience in exotic alloy manufacturing with his love of automobile racing and formed Stealth Technologies. With just 5 employees, Stealth quickly established itself as a key supplier of high-performance auto parts to some of the top racing teams and engine parts distributors in the country. At the same time the groundwork was being laid to enter the business of supplying complex net-shape forgings to the orthopedic implant industry.

Given that Mike Miller introduced near-net forging to the medical industry in the late 1980’s, he was invited by one of the major orthopedic OEM’s to serve on a planning committee to explore the possibility of using near-net shape forging technology to replace the gross forging technology then used in the manufacture of implants.

Almost immediately, Stealth became a major supplier in the implant forging business, with medical revenues quickly surpassing automotive. Throughout the following years many significant milestones were reached:

2001	Stealth acquires Hy-Vac Medical Technologies in Collierville, Tennessee, a company that specializes in the porous coating of orthopedic implants.
2003	Stealth acquires the Biomaterials Division of Astro Met, Inc. This acquisition further enhances our position as a leader in orthopedic porous coating.
2005	Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, LLC, is formed when Churchill Equity Partners of Minneapolis, MN acquires majority ownership of Stealth Medical Technologies and Unique Instruments, a medical instrument manufacturer in Bridgeport, MI and Unique Design, an orthopedic design services firm in Shelton, CT.
2005	Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, LLC acquires Bio-Vac and Bio-Coat, medical coating companies in Southfield, MI.
2006	All divisions of Orchid Orthopedic Solutions change their designations to include the Orchid name:
	Orchid Bio-Coat HA, TPS, RBM surface treatments Orchid Bio-Vac Porous coating Orchid Design Contract design Orchid Stealth Forging Orchid Stealth Coating Porous coating Orchid Unique Instrument and implant machining
2006	Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, LLC acquires MACDEE, a provider of precision machined and molded plastic products to the medical and industrial markets and changes designation to Orchid MACDEE.
