Testing and Analysis
A tensile test machine is used to test coating tensile strength per ASTM 1147, shear strength per ASTM 1044, and tensile bar substrate
strength per ASTM E8. Coating strength is tested on every order of implants processed. Percent necking is the method of measuring the
bond from bead to bead or bead to substrate. The relationship between the size of the bond and the average bead diameter gives us a percentage.
The percent necking for every Cobalt Chrome (ASTM F-75) and Titanium order is recorded and certified. This statistical tool monitors any changes
in our furnaces, powder raw material and substrate chemistry.
