February 28, 2008

HOLT, MI, February 28, 2008 – Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, a leading supplier and technology provider for the orthopedic industry is proud to introduce Osseomatrix™, a proprietary, highly porous implant material made from titanium. Developed by their Orchid Coating division, the world leader in outsourced implant porous coatings, Osseomatrix™ may be used as a porous coating on orthopedic and dental implants or as a stand alone product. The porosity can be engineered between 60% and 85% which, combined with the titanium material, make Osseomatrix™ a superior tissue ingrowth scaffold.

According to Mike Zamiara, President of Orchid, “the development of Osseomatrix™ is another example of Orchid’s capability to deliver advanced technology for the benefit of our customers and ultimately for patients. Our primary mission is to be the leader in supply chain value and innovative technology to the orthopedic industry.”

Representatives of Orchid’s product development group, Orchid Design, will be exhibiting at the 2008 American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons from March 5 to 7 in San Francisco. They are available to discuss potential uses of Osseomatrix™ with OEM’s interested in the technology.
